Homework 24th - 28th September

There are four parts to the homework for this week. You can decide which activity you wish to do each night, but we have a suggested plan below. For the homework to be as beneficial as possible, it would be our preference that you spread out the homework over the course of the week. 



Activity 1:
My Sounds Booklet pg. 14  - New sound for this week ch


Activity 2:
Word families 'e' sheet

1. Read word list 1.

Writing activity based on word list 1 - Call out the following sentence and encourage your child to do their best to write the sentence into the homework copy. 

"Ben met the hen on the jet."

2. Read word list 2.

Writing activity based on word list 2 - Call out the following sentence and encourage your child to do their best to write the sentence into the homework copy.

"Ned had a wet leg."

*Please write both sentences on the same page.
*Remind your child about finger spaces between words and full stops at the end of the sentence.
*Encourage your child to check over their own work, however we don't expect perfect spellings as the children are still learning.


Activity 3:
Graded reader - Please try to do a little bit of reading each night.


Activity 4:
This year the children will have 2 tricky words each week for homework. The tricky words from last year are on a sheet in the homework folder if you feel your child needs to revise them. 

The tricky words to memorise for this week are: old, only

*Please remember you cannot blend tricky words. 

We will give a list of suggested games to play for learning tricky words when we have built up enough words to play games.

Revise over this week's Tricky Words.

Head Lice in Senior Infants

Welcome back!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Becky and Julie's Senior Infant Blog. It was great to see everybody after the summer and we can't believe how grown up the kids are!

We will be using this blog for homework, general information and photos. We will be giving homework starting the week of the 17th September. Please ensure to check the blog every Monday for the homework.
