Jessica's Senior Infants were very busy this fortnight making shopping lists and going to the Supermarket. They also designed and built a giant supermarket with signs for each area of the shop, very impressive. The funniest part of this two weeks of Aistear was the taste testing and learning about our five senses but I think the pictures of this speak for itself - take a look and see all the different foods every child tasted! 😀

Hi everybody,
Happy Monday!
Here's the homework for the week:
Oral Language:
We are continuing on with 'The Supermarket' Aistear theme so please have another look at the picture and words on the oral language sheet and maybe even take a visit to your local supermarket and see how many areas you can name!
Reading:
The children have new readers in their folders. Please make sure all readers are brought back in on Wednesdays and Fridays so we can listen to the reading and change the books each week.
Writing:
Here are the dictation words for the week:
Day 1: food food food food
Day 2: moon moon moon moon
Day 3: pool pool pool pool
Day 4: broom broom broom broom
Tricky Words and Worksheet:
New - would, should (please practice reading these each night)
Sounds Worksheet (the long and short oo sound):
Take a look at these two videos, explaining how the short 'oo' sound makes the 'u' sound and the long 'oo' sound makes the 'oooooooh' sound.
Any questions, as always, please contact myself or Maria.
Thanks,
Jessica
